Architecture operates in a cross-disciplinary world. But its singular task remains the same: to make people desire to remain — to live, work, and remain in a place.

Tomás Reis designs the spaces that decide whether people stay. Over more than a decade, his practice has moved between two registers that most architects keep separate: the commercial logic of real estate—tenant guidelines, test-fits, retail strategy, and the cultural weight of heritage and public space.

He has applied both registers at scale: designing the concept for a major stadium expansion (Estádio da Luz) from 78,000 to 83,000 seats or the strategic refurbishment of one of Portugal's largest retail destinations (Centro Comercial Colombo), and managing visitor experience guidelines across a UNESCO World Heritage site. He answers the underlying question institutional clients always ask: how do we make this place work, commercially and humanly, at once?
