Architecture operates in a cross-disciplinary world. But its singular task remains the same: to make people desire to remain — to live, work, and remain in a place.
Born in Lisbon in 1991, Tomás Delgado dos Reis has spent over a decade practising across commercial real estate, cultural institutions, and public space, with work spanning Europe and the Gulf. His practice moves between the sensory and the strategic — drawing, colour, and narrative on one hand; spatial test-fits, tenant guidelines, and master planning on the other.
He has collaborated with Sonae Sierra across Portugal and Italy, contributed to flagship projects with Broadway Malyan in Scandinavia and the Gulf, and now practises as Senior Architect at AQA – Arquitetos Associados in Lisbon, leading concept design for residential and office projects through AI-assisted workflows.
His writing on urbanism and heritage appears regularly in Público. He teaches spatial drawing and visualisation at FLAG School Lisbon, and collaborates internationally on illustration and watercolour projects. He is a columnist, exhibitor, and muralist.
Architecture in the convergence era. As cities globally reconfigure commercial space for new uses — offices into housing, retail into experience, stadia into mixed-use campuses — the architect who can think across programme types, integrate AI tools, and maintain spatial intelligence throughout will be the one who shapes what comes next.
